Due to COVID-19, we understand many COLT riders may not able to use all their tickets in books of 10 before the January 1, 2021 expiry date. That expiry date has been extended to January 1, 2022 (per Section 3.6 of the Transit Bylaw 22/2019).

Customers are highly encouraged to follow AHS guidance to wear non-medical masks or face coverings when using public transit, or in other locations where physical distancing is not possible.

COLT is following the lead of health officials when it comes to our response to COVID-19. We want to remind everyone that we need to work together, and that we need your help to keep the system safe and clean for yourself and those around you.

We have implemented enhanced safety and cleaning measures for our fleet of buses, including:

  • Thorough wipe down of all high contact areas on buses to be completed twice daily, this includes handrails, doorknobs, chairs, armrests, and head rests
  • Enhanced cleaning process by external cleaning staff
  • Ultrastatic coating of all bus interiors with medical-grade disinfectant
  • Bus capacity has been limited to a maximum of 6 passengers
  • Passengers are to maintain 2 metres minimum distance between each other

COLT is closely monitoring the situation and we remain in contact with regional health authorities and other transit agencies to determine best practices and ensure our response is appropriate.

How you can help:

Follow the guidelines from the Canadian Public Health Agency:

  • Practice social distancing: stay two metres away from others
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the washroom and when preparing food. Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
  • Cough or sneeze into a tissue or the bend of your arm, not your hand. Dispose of any tissues you have used as soon as possible and wash your hands afterwards.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands especially after coming in contact with commonly touched surfaces like handrails and poles.
  • Stay home if you are feeling unwell
